Mya

Mya – Female in Texas

Cane Corso | Crate Trained | Large Dog Safe

Mya, a female Cane Corso in Texas, is approximately 6 years old (DOB: Aug 2018). During the Texas Winter Storm of 2021, six dogs were abandoned at an auto repair shop in Houston, Texas. Sadly, one dog was found deceased due to the harsh winter conditions, while the remaining five dogs were rescued and placed under the care of Cane Corso Rescue, Inc. Apart from Mya, Brutus, Mama Dog, and Picante are also up for adoption.

Mya has shown remarkable progress, with a notable boost in confidence. While she is still learning how to be a companion, she now actively seeks attention rather than fending for herself. Her foster family has observed Mya’s joyous greeting dance and her tail wagging enthusiastically upon their return. Mya thrives in a calm environment, preferring households with children aged 10 and above. She enjoys the company of larger dogs and craves attention from them. However, she has not been tested with small dogs or cats. Enrolling Mya in obedience training would be beneficial, as she is still in the learning phase.

Cane Corso Rescue is in urgent need of foster homes to assess these dogs, ensuring they receive proper vetting and align with their current bios.

Cane Corso Rescue has a specific set of criteria they use when reviewing applications to ensure each dog is placed in the safest and most suitable home possible. Please note that we typically do not place dogs in homes with another dog of the same sex. This is due to a behavioral tendency known as same-sex aggression, which is common in the Cane Corso breed.
