Magnum- Male in Texas
Cane Corso | 2.5 Years Old | Leash Trained | Loves Car Rides | Not Cat Tested | No Young Kids
Magnum’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible. When he first came into rescue, he was all skin and bones, desperate for food, and so overexcited at mealtime that he’d nearly knock you over to get to his bowl. But with time, patience, and training, he has made remarkable progress—so much so that it’s hard to believe he’s the same dog!
Now, Magnum follows a structured feeding routine four times a day (yes, FOUR!), and he’s thriving—he’s now weighing in at 109 pounds! His food manners have improved beyond belief. Using hand signals and verbal commands, he now waits patiently before eating, even when his entire body is shaking with anticipation. He responds to “wait,” then follows a “go out” command, running into his crate or wherever directed. Once there, he sits and holds his “wait” until given the “OK” to eat. Watching him work so hard to follow instructions and show self-control is absolutely incredible.
Magnum is a playful, goofy, and affectionate Cane Corso, around 2-3 years old (but definitely still in that energetic 2-year-old phase). He loves playing with other dogs, but we typically do not place same-sex dogs together due to potential compatibility concerns. He hasn’t shown any prey drive, but he hasn’t been tested with cats, so caution is advised.
Because of his size and excitement, he would do best in a home without young children. Not because he’s aggressive—he’s just a big, happy guy who doesn’t always realize how large he is! He thrives with structure, clear expectations, and continued training to help him be the best version of himself.
