Luna was originally abandoned abandoned by an ex boyfriend when he moved out of their home. They were unable to keep Luna due to relocation.
Luna is a 4 year old (DOB: June 2017), female Cane Corso in Tennessee. She is housebroken and lived with a 12 year old child with special needs.
Luna had to have surgery as she had right cherry eye and bilateral upper and lower entropion
Entropion is a genetic condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward. This can cause an eyelash or hair to irritate and scratch the surface of the eye, leading to corneal ulceration or perforation.
“Cherry eye” is a common term for prolapse of the third eyelid gland. Many mammals, including dogs, have an “extra” or third eyelid located inside the lower eyelid, also referred to as the “nictitating membrane.” When this gland prolapses or “pops out”, the condition is known as “cherry eye”.
Cane Corso Rescue is seeking donations to help cover Luna’s surgery. Any money donated over the goal will go to Luna’s continued care.
We will update her bio once she has settled into her new foster home and her foster family get to know her.
