Cane Corso Rescue, Inc. has recently welcomed Tucker into the family. A young, male Corso who recently celebrated his 1st birthday on February 21st, Tucker came into rescue as owner surrender for a very common reason: family had no knowledge of the breed. Of course a lack of knowledge with a large, dominant breed has led to a large puppy that lacks manners and confidence. CCR knew immediately what and who this boy needed, he needed a little guidance from one of our best and most experienced fosters. So Mr. Tucker has been in this foster home for about a week and foster Mom reports, “Tucker is making great progress. He is a bit shy when first encountering new people and new surroundings but once given an appropriate amount of time to warm up, he is Velcro to your side! He likes other dogs, but doesn’t seem to have much experience with them. He seems to want to play with his new Corso brothers and sister. He bounces and barks but is starting to understand this that this is inappropriate and undesirable behavior. True to the breed, Tucker wants to please his humans; he just needs a human who is willing to give him this direction. Tucker has learned sit and is working on his down command as well as leash manners. Because of his size and lack of manners, Tucker would be best suited in a home with children over 8 years of age. With proper introductions, Tucker would do well with a confident female of similar size and stamina. Tucker has not been evaluated with cats.
Tucker has been completely vetted, neutered, micro-chipped, and is current on heartworm and flea/tic prevention. If you are interested in adopting Tucker, please complete an application and we will process as quickly as possible.
