(I am the wiggly blue guy in this video.)
Theodore (Theo) comes to CCR from an animal cruelty case and confiscation. This story may seem familiar as CCR also rescued Thor from this same case. A concerned citizen lodged a complaint stating that a dog was chained in standing water. Animal cruelty officers went to investigate at what they thought would be a routine investigation but what they found was anything but routine…it was heartbreaking. There were a total of 16 dogs found 11 Beagles and 5 Cane Corsos. All were chained or kenneled in standing water. 6 Beagles where found dead with their little bodies stuffed in empty dog food or garbage bags. Mostly likely starved to death. Our hearts and spirits are broken. RIP little angels, we cannot fathom what you endured but we can promise you your 10 fur-brothers and fur-sisters WILL know the love of the human race and will receive ALL the love and care they so deserve as they are in the arms of the rescue angles. And one day they will be with families who are committed to giving them what you never had… They will be cherished members of a family…PROMISE. CCR has made this commitment to those we have welcomed into the family. In addition to being emaciated and in dire need of medical attention, 4 of the 5 Cane Corso are heartworm positive. Theodore has finished the beginning of his heartworm treatment, but we need to do the main treatment once he is in a home environment. This cost will be 100% covered by CCR!
Theo is a very handsome, male Cane Corso who is 5-6 years of age. He has been residing in a temporary foster until a long term foster can be found that is committed to caring for him while he undergoes heartworm treatment. CCR will cover the cost of Theo’s medical treatment, we just need a foster who can commit to 4 months. Theo is a big boy and because we have no known history on him with young children or small animals; we will not place him in a home with children or small animals. Theo is a typical male Corso who needs a confident pack leader. Theo would do well in a home with a female of similar size or as a single dog. As you can see from the picture, he and Maddie are good friends. Theo has been completely vetted, neutered, micro-chipped, and is current on flea/tick prevention.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Theo, please complete an application and we will process as quickly as possible.
