Meet Talon!! What a STUD! Talon in a 3 Yr old male Cane Corso. He came to us from on owner who unfortunately was forced to relocate and was unable to take Talon with.  During our evaluation of Talon this is what our volunteer had to say, “I got to meet Talon on Saturday. He is pretty much a perfect dog, I would have taken him if I could. He is calm and laid back. He is well trained and obedient. His owners have been very strict with him. He has never been allowed on furniture, not allowed upstairs. He has never eaten people food.”

Talon does not currently live with kids and does not have history with young children.  Therefore, CCR will only place him in a home with older kids (12yrs+)

Talon is looking for a Foster or forever home!

I’m in Mississippi (MS). Do I need to fill out another app? It was on 3/12/17. We did by accident fill in n/a on two of the email spaces for our references, and I realized afterwards that we weren’t supposed to. I can fill out another one if need be.

  9. Ashley - CCR Reply

Sylvia, yes you will receive emails along the way and also either a denial email or an email setting up the next phase of the process such as a home visit. I did check on your application and it is being processed so so far so good 🙂

Awesome!! Thank you so much Ashley!! We are very interested in Brutus.:-)

  11. Bruce Reply

I see Talon is in Ohio. If you need a foster, I would be more than happy to foster him. Bosco and Catalina are actually buddies and I’m sure Talon would fit in well with them.

    Is he still available

  14. Margaret McGriff Reply

I wonder how well he will get along with Mia, my Shih Tzu

    • CCR - Marianna Reply

Margaret – Some of our rescue Corso are found to be small dog aggressive but also some have not. That is why most go tot foster first so they can be evaluated as usually we have no idea about their past especially those that are rescued form a shelter. best thing to do is apply and during the process that can be discussed.
Apply at the top of the home page under the applications tab

  15. Lisa Fiala Reply

Is he still available. If he is i will fill out app and totally give him a forever home.

    • CCR - Marianna Reply

All the dogs on the CCR page are available…. Apply and we can get started on your application.

Hi Lisa, you will not need to fill out another application. When you apply for adoption you are considered for all dogs to fit your family’s needs.

    • CCR - Ashley Reply

Hi Nicole, All dogs on the adoptable dogs page are currently available for adoption!

  26. Ferdinand Reply

Wondering why it takes over 2 months to decide on which applicant will get a dog?

    • CCR - Ashley Reply

Hi again Ferdinand, it does not take 2 months for us to decide on an applicant for a dog. Each dogs situation is different, some get adopted so fast they don’t make it onto the webpage. Owner surrenders get posted on the webpage and then placed in foster care, so sometimes the transitioning can take longer and it seems like they are waiting a long time while in reality they are not.
