Update 5.3.15: Scooby Doo had a great time meeting and playing with new friends yesterday. He’s ready to join someone’s pack
Update 4.23.15: Scooby’s foster mom wanted to give everyone a quick update…”Scooby was a stray from NYC that found himself on death row he’s been in boarding for quite some time so we brought him here for a little break. Turns out he is such a good boy! He needs some manners as he gets very excited when he sees you and forgets them. He LOVES everyone he meets. He has done well with female dogs and will be further tested with males but of course would require proper introduction. He’s loves to cuddle and lean. He’s not very fond of being alone yet but that will just need some more time and confidence.”
Update 2.2.15: Cane Corso Rescue is pulling Scooby and we placed a hold on him last night to ensure his life would be spared. We received confirmation of this from the shelter. Scooby is now Scooby CCR! We also secured a short-term local foster so we can get him out of the shelter asap. Thank you Lord Bacon for opening your heart and home to this very urgent boy! We are so excited as we received a boat load of foster applications so Scooby will have his pick!!! CCR will update everyone once he is free.
Original Post 1.31.15: Cane Corso Rescue is desperately trying to save the life of Scooby Dooby Doo who is currently residing in a New York City Shelter. We need a foster for Scooby as soon as possible as he is on the shelter’s urgent death row list which means he can be euthanized.
Scooby is a male, fawn with black mask Cane Corso. Shelter has estimated his age to be 5 years but we are very doubtful he is day over 2 years. Scooby received a Blue behavior rating which indicates he was ‘tense and nervous but mostly still and relatively easy to handle during the exam’. We are certain he is terrified in the shelter. Although Scooby currently weighs 94 pounds he is a bit undeweight and will certainly top the scales at 110 when fed a proper, nutricious diet.
Scooby came into the shelter as a stray so we have no known history of him with small children. He has not been dog to dog tested and they do not do cat testing at the shelter. Cane Corso Rescue will post additional information about Scooby once he is in foster care and his family has had sometime to do an evaluation.
Scooby will be altered, fully vaccinated, and micro-chipped. He is current for preventive care for heartworms, fleas, and tics.
CCR approved fosters interested in helping Scooby should contact Cane Corso Rescue.
Individuals interested in fostering for Cane Corso Rescue that have not been approved please submit an application to foster and we will expedite the screening process.http://www.texasccr.org/foster-app/
Additional information will be forthcoming on Scooby once his foster family has had time to evaluate him further. (A little presumptions but we know CCR volunteers are going to help us save Scooby Dooby Doo.)
