Update 11.2.15: Sad news our precious Ramsey is once again available for adoption. Unfortunately, he and the other male Corso in the home just couldn’t come to terms with who was going to be the alpha. To make matters worse they were both infatuated with the same female which lead to many disagreements. To ensure harmony in the home and the safety of all, CCR has welcomed Ramsey back into the family. Ramsey is an absolute love so please do not hold these circumstances against him. Ramsey would be most happiest in a home as an only dog or in a home with a female of similar size. Who wants to open their hearts and home to this very handsome, well mannered boy?
Update 9.19.14: Fabulous news! Our boy Ramsey has been adopted and is making his way home as I write this. Cane Corso Rescue would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Scott Fayner and all the staff at Tail Waggerz Pet Care for providing this boy with the love, guidance, and training he so desperately needed. He came to them as a ‘puppy in the rough’ and has departed a confident, loyal Cane Corso. Congrats to all who contributed to Ramsey’s transformation and miraculous journey home. What an awesome family he has!
Update 6.10.14: Ramsey is doing fabulously in foster care as you can see by the many photos demonstrating his goofy, happy self. Ramsey’s foster dad wrote a perfect descriptor of him, “2013 Cane Corso. Italian hand crafted. Blue with brindle interior. 1 year old, very low miles. Runs great, but needs a little work on power steering, power breaks and sharing the road with compact cars. Perfect for an experienced driver.
Update 4.1.14: Ramsey was visited today by one of our most trusted volunteers. Check out his fabulous photo shoot! Here is what she had to say about this lovely pup,” I met this adorable boy today. He is a diamond in the rough. His face is as sweet as his disposition. And he appears to be housebroken, waiting to go outside before eliminating. But he has zero manners, and a lot of puppy enthusiasm. He likes to jump, and doesn’t know how to take treats gently from fingers (but nothing that can’t be worked on). He seems to be dog friendly, as he has shown little to not reaction to other dogs at the kennel. He also appears to like children (when kid voices came on the radio, his head came up and he started looking for them). With some training and patience, I think he will make an awesome best friend but because of his lack of manners and puppy enthusiasm CCR is recommending a home with no small children and/or cats.
Original Post: Rambo will be leaving the NYC kill shelter and will be entering his new life with CCR as Ramsey! Ramsey is a stunning Blue Brindle Male Cane Corso that is about 1 year old. He was surrendered by owner because they didn’t have enough time. Ramsey is one of the lucky death row survivors who narrowly escaped the death chamber. He will be neutered tomorrow so CCR is in dire need of a foster home! Ramsey is about 72lbs with no known health conditions other than the normal lose stool and URI acquired at the shelter. According to the previous owners, Ramsey has lived with 5 children, 4 of which were under 13 years of age. He also lived with another dog. Ramsey is a rambunctious puppy who loves to romp and play so CCR would prefer to place him in a foster home that has children at least 5 years of age or older. Ramsey will be altered, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, and tested for heartworms prior to placement in a foster home.
