Update 4.1.14: Mimi’s adoption and transport was completed over the weekend. She went a very long way to get to her forever home…NY to KY to WA. But the best news is… that Seven and Mimi were fostered together, were bonding to one another, and were adopted by the same fabulous person…they will live the remainder of their days TOGETHER! Thank you to all who made this happen, especially the wonderful foster family whose exceptional care and love prepared them for this miraculous event!
Update 1.19.14: Best news ever…MiMi has an adoption pending and today our wonderful volunteers banded together to get her closer to her forever home. This will be no small feat because MiMi’s forever home is in WA state so she is literally traveling cross country. For now MiMi is residing in a fabulous foster home in KY where she will continue to give her the love and care she so desperately needs. This is one special Cane Corso. A few comments from our drivers today are as follows:
“She is a love. Love her”, “She was a perfect angel”, “She is a total sweetie”, “OMG I love her she is SO sweet”, and “Good thing she has an adopter because otherwise I was going to turn around and take her home”. To think what almost happened to this beautiful angel is heartbreaking…to think what a few caring humans accomplished for her reminds us of the reason we rescue. Thank you MiMi for showing the world how fabulous a rescued Cane Corso is! 🙂
Update 1.5.14: Great news MiMi is resting comfortably in a bed that is located in a warm quiet house. She is in pretty bad shape and extremely emaciated. Rescue Angel Margaret said she is the worst she has ever seen. She was purely used as a breeding machine then discarded like a piece of unwanted trash when she was no longer needed. In spite of her horrible condition, this sweet gal allowed gentle caressing, kisses, and hugs from our rescue angles. Angle Evee is in many of the photos comforting her along the way to her temporary foster home. She spoke gently telling her about all the people who loved her ensuring she knew there are GOOD humans in this world. CCR will continue to update you on MiMi’s progress and prognosis. Please see her freedom video and photos! And, thank you!
Update 1.4.14: Tomorrow by this time Mimi will be in her temporary foster home. We have 2 weeks to get her well enough to travel to a foster home. Oh that means we need a foster or adoptive home for her to go to. Please apply to adopt or foster our darling Mimi as two weeks will go by quickly.
Update 1.3.14: Great new, temporary foster angel found for MiMi. Transport angels will be transporting her Sunday to her temporary home. Soon after she will see a vet and then be on her way to a foster or adoptive home. CCR already received an adoption application for you. Hang on MiMi the CCR troops are coming for you. Soon you will be living like royalty…promise!!! Thank you all who helped save this beautiful girl.
CCR wants desperately to save MiMi but we need a local, approved foster home for her. We are pretty confident she has mastitis (infection of the milk ducks) and must be seen and treated immediately by a vet. MiMi is still sitting in a high kill shelter and on the dreaded urgent list (euthanasia list). She came in as a stray and won’t be released or have a safer done until tomorrow. Her Medical Behavior Evaluation was good and listed as Green. The shelter reports she is approximately 2.5 years old. She allowed handling and was very calm during the medical evaluation. Mimi is severely underweight at 80.8 pounds and slightly dehydrated. IT IS A MIRICALE SHE IS SO SWEET AS WE CAN’T IMAGINE HAVING SOME LOW LIFE TAKE YOUR BABIES TO SELL AND DUMP YOU AT A SHETLER TO DIE. MiMi had to have puppies recently as she is still lactating. BEYOND HEARTBREAKING!!!
CCR did have a professional trainer visit with her a few days ago. Evee reports, “CUDDLEBUG WARNING!, whoever adopts her, she won’t let you stop snuggling her! I met her briefly, and all she wanted to do was to have me continue scratching and scratching. She stuck her whole head in my arms and I could give her a kiss on the head and she kissed my nose back. She wanted scratches over hot dogs. When she does have her safer I can almost bet money she will get an average. So if anyone is seriously interested, start the applications now so she never even gets on the list. All she wants is love. She is in a very stressful environment, lost everything she knows, they stole her puppies, been starved and neglected and yet so loving. That says everything about her that we need to know”. WE NEED SOMEONE TO FOSTER HER. PLEASE DON’T LET MiMi DIE THINKING ALL HUMANS ARE AS HEARTLESS AS HER OWNERS. If are not a CCR approved foster then please apply ASAP. We will move heaven and earth to get you processed saving MiMi’s life.
