CCR is elated to welcome Lucy Lu into the family and to announce her ADOPTION by the fabulous family who foster her!!!
Lucy Lu and 5 of her siblings, and Momma were rescued by the village on Saturday, July 9, 2016. We couldn’t of done this rescue without the support of our villagers and their friends! What a family we are!!! Since this time, Lucy Lu, Silly Willy (brother) and Momma C have been residing with a fabulous foster family (1 sibling is residing in VA and 3 siblings are residing in TX). Daddy was also rescued and has an adoption pending. This Corso family comes into rescue as a result of a confiscation in which the courts awarded custody to animal control. Fortunately, they contacted CCR and the rest is history as once the village knew of the need all were picked up and are happily residing in foster homes.
Lucy Lu is about 5/6 months of age and is absolutely adored by her foster family so much so that they have decided that they cannot imagine life without her. So this precious little baby girl is home FOREVER with a family who will guide, love, and cherish her forever more.
Lucy Lu is a very smart little lady as she is already responding to commands. She is crate trained and almost completely house trained. Although she is still somewhat skittish so she is hesitant to come, go thru doors and enter the crate. But once placed in her crate she sleeps well. She is very affectionate and is beginning to sit during these times of pleasure; she enjoys any kinds of handling by her people. She is soo much fun outside. she plays with tennis balls. She fetches and brings them close to you and drops them. She will chase and run around with her humans.
True to the breed, Lucy Lu’s guardian skills are emerging. She runs the perimeter of the yard to assure all is safe and when in the home barks to alert as she wants her family to know that strangers and animals are near. At the present time she is still taking cues from her Momma but will soon transfer these ‘cue seeking behaviors’ to her humans.
Lucy Lu also eats in her crate as she is underweight and submissive so has a tendency to let others eat her kibble. She loves eating in her crate as it gives her full, uninterrupted access to the food and we are ensuring she is getting proper nutrition and weight gain as she is too skinny!!
Poor Lucy Lu never experienced a leash so she never knew the pleasures associated with the walk, But we are happy to report that with several training periods, she is beginning to get it; although if you are a neighbor, you may still seeing a whirling, twirling puppy at the beginning of the walk.
Lucy Lu loves the kiddie pool and like her brother is convinced it is her private water bowl! At this point, her swimming adventures is of the one foot at a time adventure. With a little more convincing, we are sure she will jumping in all feet and body soon.
Lucy Lu joins the loving home of 2 human parents and a lovely Chihuahua/Min Pin mix. By continuing to work with a slow integration process, we are confident this will be a happy, cohesive family and soon the neighbors will be seeing Eddy and Lucy Lu frolicking, happily in the yard together as well as two happy humans and two happy rescues strolling through the neighborhood. Happy life sweet Lucy Lu!!!
