Update 11.2.15: Poor Lilly was adopted to a family who promised to love and cherish her forever; instead after two years they have returned her to CCR through no fault of her own. Well guess what, we commit for life and Lilly is back in the arms of the village. Lilly is still the sweetest, gentlest soul you ever wanted to meet. She is now about 7 years old and looking for a family who will give her the love and companionship she needs. Lilly is currently being fostered in a doggie day care center with lots of other dogs and people. She continues to do well but really deserves a family who is truly committed!
Update 7.1.14: The awesome news we have all been waiting for Lilly has been adopted and has been home with her wonderful family for about a week now. We are so happy for her as she has won the hearts of all who have crossed her path. Lilly wants you all to know her patience paid off, as this is a union that is truly meant to be.
Update 3.14.14: Lilly is doing amazing in foster care @ doggy day care. Lots of friends, lots of playing, lots of love. It seems like she’s forgotten her past and concentrates only on her present. Oh, and she really likes pastrami. But she would still love a home. Fill out an application with CCR to see about adopting her.
Lilly is a gorgeous female 5yr old Cane Corso who is available for adoption through CCR. Lilly was the pick of the litter from a pet store in Smithtown, NY. She had lived with the family who purchased her from 3 months of age to 5 years of age. She is house trained and very well behaved. She was raised with children and other dogs (small, large, male, and female) but has an unknown history with cats. When Lilly came into rescue she had been living in a vacant home without heat, lights, etc. She was being fed and watered once a day. Her greatest joy was the TIME she was left outside each day. As a result of being kept in an abandoned home, Lilly has developed some anxiety associated with being left alone for long periods of time. The perfect forever home for Lilly would be with a family that has someone home most of time. Lilly is a petite Corso weighing about 80 pounds. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and current on preventative care. Everyone who meets Lilly raves about her sweet disposition. Lilly will be a fabulous addition to any family. Please consider adding her to yours.
