Cane Corso Rescue, Inc would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to our CA girls! They are mother and daughter, a bonded pair of delightful girls.Lena is a 5 year old, black brindle female Cane Corso. Siena is a 10 year old, gray brindle female. The shelter where they have been residing report both “have interacted really well with everyone who has gone to pet them and love them.” The shelter completed a medical assessment on them but opted not to do a behavior assessment as they are not familiar with the breed and both girls were pretty traumatized. It is our understanding that the girls were ‘potentially involved in a humane/ domestic violence case that has apparently carried through different counties” throughout California. The shelter wanted to ensure the girls did not fall into the wrong hands so they asked for our help! Of course we welcome them with open hearts and arms. Don’t you worry sweethearts the CCR village is going to do everything in their power to find you a family who will love, cherish, and care for you both for all eternity.
Lena’s medical assessment was normal as was the results of her bloodwork. Unfortunately, Momma Siena did not fare as well as she came in with a large, ulcerated mass hanging from her left mammary gland and other small masses have been detected. Thank goodness the large, ulcerated mass was able to be removed and it is benign. The lab found Siena’s mass to be an overgrowth of tissue that may have arisen from a previous trauma. Siena’s is doing well post-op but will need further diagnostics on the smaller masses in her left mammary glands. Cane Corso Rescue, Inc.
CCR recognizes the difficulty in finding a home for both girls but we really are hoping we can find a family who is willing and able to keep them together. They have been through so much already and have lost everything except each other…we owe it to them to try our best. Momma Siena is part of our silver paws program so expenses for her approved medical care will be provided by CCR for the remainder of her life. For now we need to get both into a foster or adoptive home so Momma Siena can recuperate from her surgery and both can begin living the good life, leaning on one another for support…as that is how it should be.
Lena and Siena have been completely vetted, spayed, micro-chipped, and are current on heartworm and flea/tic prevention. If you are interested in fostering or adopting the girls, please complete an application and we will process as quickly as possible. Both girls are currently located in CA and because of Siena’s surgery we are hoping to find a foster in CA or in one of the surrounding states.
