UPDATE 7/24/17 – What a rockstar!! Chum has been very busy winning the hearts of everyone he has met! Thanks to a very wonderful foster, he was been working on his manners, socialization, and even loving life with 2 sisters! Chum is an awesome representation of the breed and a really loving dog. He is ready to find his forever home!!!
FOSTER NEEDED! CCR is in need of a foster home so we can get Chum Lee out of the shelter!! We were contacted on behalf of his young man by shelter staff, who felt he should be placed by an organization who knows and understands the corso breed. Chum was found as a stray so little is known about his past. The vet at the shelter has estimated him to be around 1 year old. It is clear that no one spent any time working on his manners with him in the past, as when he came into the shelter he did not know any verbal commands, nor how to walk on a leash. Thanks to the dedication of the staff there, he has learned the basics, and is being walked on a gentle leader with great success.
Our volunteer who evaluated Chum at the shelter had this is say about him:
” What a sweet boy! Chum Lee is definitely more handsome in person than he is in his pictures. Upon leaving the kennel runs, I was immediately greeted with a hug and an attempt at some kisses however the shelter volunteer corrected him and placed him in a sit which he reluctantly agreed to. He’s getting his basic commands down and is very gentle in the play yard and was being a big goof, rolling around with his toys and having a great time. Several dogs walked by while we were in the play yard, with little to no reaction from Chum. The shelter has dog tested him with a large spayed female, and he did well, but he has a ton of puppy energy so he will need a very active or very tolerant playmate. ”
We know Chum Lee has great potential! We need a foster home to step up and help this young boy fine tune his manners and get him ready for a forever loving home! Due to his size and energy Chum is looking for a foster home with a large breed female companion and no small dogs/cats/or young children.
