Cane Corso Rescue, Inc. is pleased to be welcoming Chrome into the family. This handsome young fellow is a very happy, goofy boy. The Lutz’s had the pleasure of spending a great deal of time with him the other day as they visited Chrome at the shelter where he has been residing for last 2 months after being found hungry, alone, and frightened on the city streets. It is extremely hard to understand how such a wonderful boy could not be claimed but that is the case. No one came looking for this boy until the rescue angels came calling. Chrome will be going to his fabulous foster home where he will be joining a fabulous family. We doubt he will wait too long for his forever family as who doesn’t want a 1 year old, blue male Corso with a diamond white patch on his chest and white tipped paws as well as a winning personality to match.
During their time visiting Chrome, they were able to observe many of his outstanding qualities. He is a very smart boy who is very eager to please and extremely treated motivated. He eagerly sits on command, waits, and gives excellent eye contact. He walks extremely well on the leash and remains faithfully by your left side. It was a very hectic time at the shelter as the Easter Bunny was there and there had to be at least 50 people and their beloved pets visiting, not even this chaos bothered Chrome. He was 100% non-reactive to other animals and greeted strangers with a happy nubby wag and a friendly sniff. While walking on the trails he encountered other people and dogs all of which were ignored as we were on a walk and he totally understood this purpose and behaved appropriately. Chrome takes treats from your hand very appropriately and gently. On the other hand, Chrome is all puppy and he still learning how to control his feet, legs, and body with the pent up energy from being kenneled two months he gets very excited and loses sight of his manners. “It was very hard to tell the difference between his head and his butt as he attempted to play ball; his level of excitement was comical until he almost took my husband out when running laps around the yard as his body definitely wasn’t responding to his brain!” Got to love these pups at this age! With a regular outlet for his energy, proper diet, and guidance Chrome will be a magnificent addition to most families. CCR will continue to update his information once his foster family has had time to evaluate him further in a home setting. As of now, we recommend Chrome’s forever family be one with children over the age of 8 (as if he can knock a grown adult over in his time of excitement we certainly do not want to risk frightening a young child with his exuberance).Chrome was evaluated with very dog savvy cats at the shelterand although a good boy he was pretty frightened by their existence so he would be best suited for a home with no felines.
Chrome has been completely vetted, neutered, micro-chipped, and is current on heartworm and flea/tic prevention. If you are interested in adopting Chrome, please complete an application and we will process as quickly as possible.
