Now for the most important part of rescue…giving Dinck his miracle of a a family who love and cherish him from this day forward. I think he earned it!!! Come on family, please find him!
Update 11.2.15: Dinck’s foster family wanted to give the village an update. He continues to do well with the treatment for mange as you can see by the regrowth of the hair. He has had his cherry eyes repaired, has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Today he begins treatment to rid his heart and lungs of the dreaded heartworm infection. Soon this boy will be ready to receive his forever family. Another precious soul surrounded by the love and care provided by the CCR village. We love you Dinck! Good luck today on phase 1 of your treatment!
Update 8.31.15: Catfish’s foster family wanted to give you all an update on his progress thus far. He has earned himself a nickname, ‘Dinck’.”Dink has settled in very nicely with our family. He definitely accepts us as his people. The first month he was here, we took time to get to know each other. We have two small children (3 & 4 y/o) and the first couple of weeks he would knock them over trying to play with them. With some gentle correction, he no longer does this and is very wonderful with them. Medically, He is doing good. When he first arrived we did notice him coughing at least once a day, but I can honestly say that that has subsided and we don’t notice the cough that much. We have two other dogs in our home- a Weimaraner and Dogue De Bordeaux. Now that Dinck is starting to feel better, we are getting to know him a bit better, he has a bit of a prey drive so CCR is recommending no cats or small dogs in his forever home. Dink gets along great with dogs of similar size!” CCR is hoping foster mom will upload some pictures of him soon!
CCR recently welcomed this poor boy catfish in to the family. We just couldn’t say no as he is in such dire need of medical attention and this was just too much for his current caretaker to handle. She is not his owner as she saved him from that situation. We are hoping the village can help rally support for Catfish as he has a list of extensive medical issues and is in great discomfort.
1. He is underweight
2. He is heartworm positive 3. He has bilateral cherry eye that has gone untreated for a long time 4. He has Demodex mange that has gone untreated for a very long time
He has had a miserable existence and still he wags to express his love for his humans, he smiles to express his appreciation for their kindness, and he seeks human affection in spite of the pain and discomfort he is in because… he STILL believes in the human race as being good, decent people. Bless your heart Catfish…the CCR village has the most remarkable human beings on this earth and they have embraced you. YOU are in the village now rest easy good things are coming your way. Catfish has a fabulous foster family that is devoted to providing his rehabilitation care…we just need to rally support for his medical care.
