Blu is a formentino (blue fawn) Cane Corso who was surrendered by a family in California. Blu is about 1.5 years old (DOB 5/27/15).
His family bought him in Florida without doing much research on the breed. Blu has spent much of his recent time in a crate because the family had “no time” to exercise and train him. He lived with young kids, but he clearly was always crated or outside :-(. There is no doubt that his family loved him, as they did want him to only go to CCR and they provided all his vet history. They simply got in over their heads.
You can imagine how much energy this poor guy needed to release when CCR too him. He is a lovely boy, but he was initially VERY overwhelming! However, like all Corsos, he is very intelligent and eager to please. His foster mom has been working with him and he has learned so much and is such a good boy. He will need the typical confident leader to continue with his training.
Blu can be with all dogs and is a social dog, once he knows you. Due to his extra large size, CCR prefers to place Blu in a family with medium to large size dog(s). Blu still doesn’t know his own strength so we don’t want that to become an issue in his new home, with a small dog.
Blu truly is a joy. If you want more information, please apply to adopt and once you are approved, you can get all the details on Blu from his foster mom. If he’s the right match for you and you for him, we would love to send him home! Blue is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
